Mainland Civil is looking for recent Graduate Site Engineers to join our Sydney office to work within the Sydney metropolitan area. This is a great opportunity to be a part of one of Australia’s premier Civil Contracting businesses specialising in CBD excavations and heavy-duty pavements and infrastructure for ports and terminals with offices across the eastern seaboard.

We are seeking highly organised, motivated, and well-presented people with an attention to detail that enjoy getting the job done.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar role in an Australian civil construction company, demonstrating a range of projects across varying levels of capability (extensive)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or diploma/grad diploma of Project Management
  • Ability to respond quickly to change and be flexible
  • Strong communication and leadership skills – ability to establish effective relationships
  • Strong understanding of health and safety and environmental procedures
  • Minimum 3 years Civil Site Supervisory experience essential in Civil, Earthmoving, road and concrete works) (min 3 years)
  • Cert 4 Site Supervision/ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Current driver’s license
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills necessary to manage site team and subcontractors
  • Ability to interpret and understand construction drawings/plans
  • Knowledge and commitment to WHS
  • Competent and ticketed in operating various civil construction plant (Excavator, Dozer, Skid Steer, loaders)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil works
  • Current driver’s license
  • Ability to complete and pass pre-employment medical and drug + alcohol screen
  • Possess a positive attitude and be a reliable member of the site team
  • Strong safety awareness and initiative
  • Current driver’s license (MR/HR class preferred)
  • WHS/OHS Induction Card
  • Plant operation experience and competency preferred but not essential
  • Excellent initiative and ability to follow instructions correctly
  • Ability to effectively contribute and communicate in a team environment
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in an Australian civil construction company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Excellent subcontractor coordination skills
  • Understanding of Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
  • Ability to programme, schedule and manage budgets
  • IT Skills Word/Excel/Project
  • Excellent leadership and communications skills to assist in managing the site team and subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of drawings and technical specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, motivated attitude and awareness of safety
  • IT skills: Microsoft Word/Excel/Project
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in estimating civil engineering projects – primarily in bulk earthworks, demolition, roads, infrastructure and services
  • Good understanding of tender and estimation process, ability to learn quickly
  • Extremely high attention to detail and quality of works
  • Understanding of RFI’s and ability to read drawings and do measurements
  • Dealing with clients face to face
Able to work independently to complete the measurement work including reviewing and checking

Participate and support in cost plan estimate, preparation of BOQ, tender and contract documents.

Diploma or above, major in project costing, construction management or other related disciplines.

Must be able to put together subcontract packages, source prices and evaluate subcontractors.

Good communication skills.
