OVERVIEW
Positioned in the heart of the North Sydney CBD, the 1 Denison Street Project is a commercial development which will be the new home to Channel 9.
As the early works contractor, Mainland Civil’s scope of works included the demolition of the existing Berry Square Shopping Centre, stormwater culvert diversion, temporary shoring, installation of two cantilevered loading platforms, bulk and detailed excavation.
Mainland were also awarded additional scope items to assist the projects jumpform acceleration methodology which included the lift core concrete structures package as well as the design and installation of the permanent hold down anchoring system.
The 40,000m3 of sandstone was excavated and removed within one of North Sydney’s busiest precincts. A detailed excavation methodology was implemented to ensure all noise and vibration criteria were met with minimal impact to neighbouring residents.
