OVERVIEW
Overlooking Hyde Park Sydney, on the corner of Liverpool and Elizabeth Street, Mainland Civil were awarded the early works contract for the One30 Hyde Project.
Mainland Civil’s scope of works included the construction of a structural steel truss retention system, loading platform, bulk and detailed excavation.
Due to the close proximity of the Sydney CBD railway network tunnels, a self supported hydraulically jacked structural steel truss retention system was installed prior to the commencement of excavation.
A detailed excavation methodology was implemented to include shoring monitoring and inspection hold points at regular intervals, ensuring the 14,000m3 of sandstone was excavated whilst complying with the vibration criteria and requirements of Sydney Trains.
