OVERVIEW
South Eveleigh by Mirvac (previously known as Australian Technology Park) is a multi site development of commercial buildings and retail spaces.
Mainland’s scope of work was to design and construct an underground walkway connecting two existing buildings underneath an existing service road. The service road carries heavy plant and equipment for Transport NSW train yards and was required to remain open 24 hours a day.
Design and construct elements of this package included a T44 traffic loading structural steel bridge, pile shoring retention system, heritage façade stabilisation and support, bulk and detail excavation, partial demolition of a load bearing structure, and the concrete tunnel structure.
The travelator tunnel was handed over as a completed structure ready for fit out trades.
