OVERVIEW
This controversial and politically-sensitive major redevelopment required an extensive traffic management plan to implement the excavation and removal of 60,000m3 of sandstone and contaminated materials. Under the watchful eye of the local Mayor, North Sydney City Council and the general public, the excavation was completed on programme and without major incident.
Demolition, shoring and service relocation along with extensive dewatering and environmental controls completed this landmark project.
